Country View Lodging Motel

Little motels are too often overlooked in today’s hustle and bustle. We had a great night’s rest staying at the Country View. It was very similar to staying with family. We felt very much at home.

Stayed in June 2025. We used cabin 5 for our base. We hiked the trails on the Skyline Drive and this cabin was closest to the drive. Elkton was nice and friendly little town with several places to eat. Country View is a very nice motel. Very clean and the people employed there were very friendly and helpful with any need we had. We felt very safe there. Not only do they have cameras everywhere but there are "eyeballs" on the place at all times. We will be back!

We stayed in Cabin 3. The cabin was very clean, simple, and comfortable. The owners (and employees) are kind, gracious, and committed to serving their customers. It was also a blessing to meet the owner and his wife. I highly recommend this motel.

Stayed here during a thru hike on the Appalachian Trail. They suggested a shuttle to get me there, excused my blunders of not reading employee only signs, were extremely helpful, and the rooms were clean, cute, and very comfortable. Reminds me of some models we stayed in when I was a kid visiting SNP. Plenty of towels and amenities and free laundry is a huge boost to thru hikers! Hot shower, comfy bed and I have to hand it to the housekeepers, very clean! Loved my stay.

First time stay. We booked here based on the rating and so glad we did. Making the reservation was a breeze. Check in was just as easy. The front desk attendant was very friendly. We had cabin 2 with 2 beds. Very well kept. Homey feeling. VERY CLEAN. Being in the cabin you didn't hear your neighbors or the road out front. We only stayed one night but I was very impressed by the place. If im ever that way again I will definitely book there again. Also if you do have children there is an AWESOME playground near by :Rockingham Park at the Crossroads. 2 zip lines. Several things that spin. CLEAN. I have a 9 year old granddaughter and 10 year old grandson. They played nonstop for 2 hours. Highly recommend.

Room 11 with Kitchenette and back door with porch to the field; loved it for my dog! I made all my meals there and brought my own coffee, was perfect! Inexpensive and enjoyable. Less than 4 miles to SNP entrance, room had everything you needed, nothing fancy but clean. Mattresses could be replaced for sure and some basic upgrade TLC could make it better. Painting, caulking, etc. No cell coverage but TV worked great and had all the channels. One staff person and she was friendly. Would have liked brochures on the area, however.

We have stayed here several times in the cabins. They are always clean, and cozy. The front desk lady is always super friendly and polite. I believe I have stayed here 4 or 5 times. Photos are from cabin 4 While in the area grab a burger at Old 33 Burger there in Elkton!

Definitely will stay again to visit the Park. Fantastic location, exactly as described and pictured (website has ample photos of each room), warm and friendly service paired with convenient and economical amenities (free laundry on site!) - checks all the boxes. Can't be beat! It's right off the main highway road so it could get a little noisy with passing cars, though if you're in the area for hiking and you aren't passing out as soon as you hit the bed, you might be doing it wrong... Limited service after 8:30pm, so book ahead; this isn't a place with 24/7 front desk reception staffing so late night walk-ins will have to call the off-duty numbers (found at the reception) and wait for assistance.
